Salutations one and all,

We are back with edition #2 of teamix, and though we said we would be back in February with another 10 tracks, we couldn't stay away for that long. How could we? A lovely audience like yourself and two boys who just wanna yap about cool music and watch you enjoy it, this was bound to happen! Also 5 tracks twice a month seemed to be a better way to go, so here we are. We have some real beauties for you this time, it took us quite a while to decide what to put on here. We thought it would be easier, but we already have so many great tracks waiting that deciding to go with these 5 was fairly tough.

Shall we get right to it then?

Phila - Black Letters

Album: Petrichor (2016)

You know how some Monday mornings you wake up and everything seems to be happening too slowly? We bring you our genius solution in collaboration with Black Letters (who do not know this is a collaboration of any sort yet) - Phila! This track starts nice and slow and builds one step at a time to take you from not awake to awake and ready to smash that Monday work deadline. It is not stressful on the ears, it is mellow, and it has these chorus parts that remind you of the feeling of splashing water on your face. Every chorus is like a tiny wave of energy that gets you from your horizontal orientation to your chair with minimum irritation on the way.

People Everywhere (Still Alive) - Khuruangbin

Album: The Universe Smiles Upon You (2015)

Khuruangbin is fairly popular, but we hadn't heard of them until recently. Coming from Texas, the three members of Khuruangbin make music taking inspiration from all over the world. This track in particular, with its heavy basslines and Thai-influenced guitar licks, it gets our feet tippy-tapping immediately. As an instrumental track, it works beautifully in our 'background tracks' playlists.

Wildfire (Dadhelo) - Bipul Chettri

Album: Sketches of Darjeeling (2014)

What a track. Big boss Bipul completely smashed it with this track. With his gorgeous voice and tip top finger plucking, he seems to have made this track that makes us yearn for the mountains. If I had a 'to be played when spiraling around the Ghats in a rickety state transport bus while wistfully looking at the hills outside' playlist, this would be the first track. It's so good we're really surprised some Bollywood movie hasn't used it as the soundtrack for a traveling scene.

Rumbera - Systema Solar

Album: Rumbo e Tierra (2017)

Latin music has a way of putting a little skip in your step, and Rumbera is no exception. It is groovy, it is upbeat, it is happy, it makes you wanna jiggle like jelly in those little jelly cups you find in some random supermarkets, what more is needed from a track? It kinda reminds us of Kool and the Gang, with a Latin flavor and a little electro hip-hop twist. Good friends + A lil booze ;) + Rumbera = Good times. This is a correct equation.

Lokada Kalaji - Raghu Dixit

Album: Jag Changa (2013)

Raghu sir paved the road to my journey into Indian artists. Listening to him live is like a shot of adrenaline and listening to him over your headphones is nearly as good. This track brings together everything that we love about Raghu Dixit. An upbeat folksy track about not giving a fuck and enjoying life without worrying too much, Raghu sir really outdid himself with it. The Kannada lyrics and the music work in tandem, and even those who don't understand the language can very easily understand the sentiment through the music. This song always puts a smile on our face and a shimmy in our shoulders. (P.S. -If you haven't heard Raghu Dixit live, find the next gig and sign up for it ASAP! Definitely an experience that you will not regret)
